Speaker: Joe Tumolo "Imagine a horizontal line. Below the line are the different type of planned giving vehicles, tax implications and financial tools. Above the line is the “human” side of planned giving. A solid understanding of below the line is essential. When we spend more time above the line, everyone benefits; the donor, our organization and the people we serve. Above the Line is about empathetic listening, asking better questions, and understanding family dynamics. It’s about studying human behavior, understanding seniors and how to communicate with them. It’s about helping the donor accomplish what they want for themselves, their families and the difference they want to make with the people we serve in our organizations”. Joe trains and coaches fundraisers and board members all over the country. He blends his relational sales training and planned giving approaches to develop well rounded fundraisers who move away from transactional fundraising to developing a connection with donors that leads to valued relationships. Joe is a board member of the Planned Giving Council of Greater Philadelphia. Joe is planned giving advisory chair for Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, PA where he helps in soliciting and stewarding planned giving donors. He recently earned his Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy certification at the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA.
