Speaker: Holly S. McCann, Esquire Rennderdale For the last 20 years Holly S. McCann, an attorney with Sherrard, German & Kelly, P.C., has been a leader in issues relating to the taxation and regulation of nonprofit corporations. The depth of her work has included the formation and dissolution of nonprofits as well as advising nonprofits on unrelated business taxable income and structuring issues for many organizations throughout Western Pennsylvania. Over the years she has provided guidance to over 50 non-profit organizations throughout the community. She is currently working with an internet start up to promote internet donations by younger individual for whom traditional giving models are failing. She is also working with a local nonprofit to assist in solving problems related to unpaid payroll tax liabilities and potential assessment of trust fund penalties against responsible persons. One of the major recent projects with which she is involved includes working with a nonprofit organization that owns real estate in numerous Pennsylvania counties, and assisting the organization in obtaining real estate tax exemptions for real estate used by the organization in carrying out its tax-exempt functions.
